Curlew (Arnac Bay Curlew) is a lovely dog with a very sweet personality, a great coat and, like her dad Earl, is very friendly to people and other dogs. She is always being cuddled by dog friendly children when we are out on dog walks!
She has been a part of the picking up team for five years now and is totally reliable, a great game finder, with a great nose. Her speciality is finding those birds tucked away in the grass clumps by steadily and methodically hunting an area whilst others have dashed around too fast to find them! Quiet and so chilled at home to the point of being lazy, she totally comes to life once a gun goes off!
She shares her mother’s complete lack of enthusiasm for the show ring, but despite this, and very limited showing, was Best in Show at the breed club’s limited show.
In working competition she won the CBRC 2012 autumn working test for puppies, and won the 2012 top dual purpose puppy award. Like her grandmother, Pride, she is a super gundog on real birds but thinks that green dummies (bumpers) are quite the most boring thing to retrieve!
