Larch

Larch (Arnac Bay Arapahoe) is very similar in breeding to Wager, and another beautiful one with excellent conformation. She has two CCs, a reserve CC and was Best Bitch in Show in Sweden when Robyn Haskin, Chesapeake breeder from the USA, judged and fell in love. Larch is a complete extrovert and loves everybody to the point that her tail gets damaged from wagging against the show bench!

Larch thinks she is a spaniel when out picking up: she goes through, over and under anything to get her bird and never tires. She ranges further than I would like her to at times, but always comes back with a bird that would otherwise have been missed. A very obedient dog at home, out shooting she thinks she knows far better than me but is very effective! Larch has proved her worth at working tests and won the CBRC Beginners test in the autumn of 2012.

In 2015 I decided to send Larch to the USA to be bred to USA BISS GCH Chestnut Hills Windjammer SH WDX. My good friend Gina Downin had agreed to whelp the litter in the USA as I would be in the middle of the UK shooting season and so a plan was hatched for us to be joint breeders of a litter that ultimately produced pups that went to Norway, Switzerland, the USA, and one back to me in England – Arnac Weatherdeck Buoy.

Some good friends in the USA offered to take Larch after she had weaned the pups and knowing that she would have the best home possible, shooting and being in the lap of luxury, I agreed. Larch remains in the USA as a wildfowling and rough shooting dog and is still loving life and her family.
